New version uploaded This version is without the watermark, as a way of acknowledging that while my drawings are of reasonable quality, excessive watermarking is unnecessary on work that will never be published. So here is the 'clear' version.
It took me months to complete this A1-sized pencil drawing. It embodies the entirety of my approach to drawing, yet is only a stepping stone to the degree of realism I ultimately want to achieve (realism in 'naturalness', rather than simply photo-realistic style). I guess it's easy to produce a photo-realistic image in pencil if you know the technique, but it's less easy to capture the beauty of a natural look, something that you recognise as realistic and natural rather than staged and rigid.
Jesus Christ. I never looked at this before. And I have seen your icon hundreds of times, always thinking that it was just a really crisp, clean photograph. It was awesome when I thought it was a photo... but for *bleeps* sake, I can't believe that it is a drawing. It's just amazing. And really I don't have the words to tell you. I want to be able to draw an eye and make it look THAT real. Hell. It looks more real than my own eyes, when I'm looking in the mirror. It's extremely sharp. It's captivating. I keep scrolling up to look at it whilst typing. You're at a level few every find. I was looking thru your gallery to find Medusa again, so I could look upon her (and see if you had prints for sale) and I saw this and had to click. You really have made a fan out of me. You're probably the best photographer I've ever laid eye upon, and your drawing skills are at a degree that's beyond words.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
